Despite having founded two start-ups while researching corporate warfare at university in the early 2000s, Valentin eventually went corporate after completing his Ph.D. programme. In 2010 he joined the world market leading machinery equipment manufacturer Wagner Group, a Swiss based foundation owned company, as the strategic assistant to the CEO. Valentin has held management positions in marketing, business development, and digital transformation.
Since 2016 he heads the corporate incubator freiraum and is a member of the senior leadership team of Wagner. Next to that, Valentin is also the founder and managing director of IONIQ Skincare, a world leading beauty tech startup. He has won the national Digital Champion Award by Deutsche Telekom in 2021 and is a regular lecturer in innovation, business modelling and organizational implementation at Hasso Plattner Institute (Potsdam) and European School of Management & Technology (Berlin).
